Well, here we are, in a post-election America where truly frightening people are in charge of the Executive Branch, in the majority in the Legislative Branch, and will soon be the majority in the Judiciary Branch as well. The checks and balances of the Constitution have been kicked over by a bully, and those of us in the ant hill are scurrying for survival — Where DO we go from here?
Some ideas are starting to come out of the chaos, but I believe the most important things right now are to keep Hope alive, and to keep moving forward. The odds are longer, but the issues have not changed.

New Mexico bookseller Rock Creek Books (this is an Amazon site — click on “Products” - search by topic, title, author, or page-by-page) is in the 2014 Kos Katalog 'mothership' masterlist and may soon be homeless because her years as her late mother’s caregiver & bookselling partner left her with thousands of books in a storage unit but also a backbreaking load of debts associated with disabled health, and their home ‘under water’ after her mother’s passing a couple of years ago.
Her job skills are no longer the kinds that allow her to pass probation with any employer who’s been willing to give her a try. When she is eligible for social security, her years of best paying in are so long in the past that it will be an unsurvivable pittance. She’s lost many battles and still has more struggle ahead. I found someone who told us about KeepYourHomeNewMexico.org in case that program (of the Atty Gen of NM?) can help stop foreclosure on her workplace/home. But it's looking grim.
